The Mechanicsburg Fire Department was dispatched to the 29-04 box for a residential structure fire. Engine 29, Squad 29, Utility 29 and Truck 29 made the response along with mutual aid companies. Engine 29 arrived to find an exterior fire on the rear of an attached garage. 1 handline was quickly placed in service, extinguishing the fire before it extended into the living area of the residence. Mechanicsburg’s Volunteer Firefighters operated on scene for 1 1/2 hours.
