05-29-2026 2112hrs Company 29 was dispatched to the 29-03 box for a residential structure fire. Squad 29 and Tower 29 made the response. Squad 29 arrived, securing their own water supply and advancing a hose line. A small extinguished ventilation fan fire was located. Company 29 operated on scene for one hour.

Garage Fire in the Borough
05-28-2026 1430hrs Company 29 was dispatched to the 29-04 box for a garage fire. Squad 29, Tower 29, and Utility 29 made the response. Crews arrived to find a cooking fire in an attached garage. Squad 29 advanced 1 hose line, quickly bringing the fire under control. Company 29 operated scene for just over an hour.

Squad 29’s crew operated as fire attack. Mechanicsburg Firefighters operated on scene for just under 2 hours.

Congratulations from the MFD

Rainy Wednesday Brings 3 Calls
A Rainy Wednesday brings MFD three incidents in our first due. 1259hrs - Commercial fire alarm 1429hrs - Vehicle accident 1838hrs - Small outside structure fire (shed) Prior to the rain’s arrival, the crew on station completed some required training on Squad 29 for a Firefighter who is working towards being cleared as a Driver/Operator.

New Names, Same Rigs
The Mechanicsburg Fire Department would like to introduce Wagon 29 and Tower 29. While these two pieces of apparatus are the “same old firetrucks” that everyone is used to seeing, they now have new names thanks to a multi-county effort to more accurately identify apparatus through standardized unit designations.
